Everything You Need to Know About Working with JMC Design / Build
Without knowing all your homes details and lot characteristics it is impossible to give anything but a ballpark guess on cost and timing. The first four phases of our building process allow us to gather the information needed to give you a detailed estimate and a timeline to get things moving.
By the time you decide to hire us and the job starts, we’ll have determined the best lines of communication for your project. Between our initial meetings and your detailed contract, we’ll go over everything you need to know to make decisions and understand the scope of your job.
At JMC, we believe in keeping our clients fully informed every step of the way. We’ll update you every week throughout the duration of your project, with the progress that’s been made and the work in the upcoming week. This ensures you are always aware of what's happening and can plan accordingly.
After years of working in the construction industry, we have assembled an independent team of subcontractors that work with us to provide the craftsmanship and quality we require. We meet with our team ahead of time to make sure they have a clear understanding of what to do. We’re on our projects daily and available to answer any questions that may come up.
Asking about payments can be awkward, so addressing these items upfront and determining a payment strategy for your project can relief stress. It’s crucial to clarify where funding is coming from and what form it will take.
Even though our projects are cost plus, we still want you to sign off on any major changes or material upgrades. This keeps the cost of your project in check and you’ll know if any additional out of pocket expenses need to be paid upfront during the build phase.
Quality construction work isn’t cheap. Good products cost money, so if you want something that’s going to look good and stand the test of time, you can’t cut corners. ‘Cheap’ and ‘fast’ just don’t go together. Instead, you should hire a contractor with integrity that does the work correctly and uses quality materials.
